The Ideas Behind IZA's Name and Logo
We are named after Izanagi and Izanami, the mythological Shinto gods who gave birth to the country of Japan and its 8 million gods in the distant past, when there was not yet a country called Japan.
We borrowed the name IZA to explore new experiences and ideas that are not bound by common sense with a bold 21st century interpretation.
The logo of "nagi," the flagship villa, represents the calm surface of the sea and peacefulness after the wind has died down.
The logo of the second line "nami" (wave), which is aimed at the younger generation, expresses the gently swaying sea and transience.
IZA's special-order BESS villa
IZA's Vacation Villa series are all customized IZA special order models of BESS log houses that embrace convenience but enjoy playfulness.
Our journey has been one of progress, achieved through dedication and perseverance, even amidst moments of uncertainty and setbacks. We have embraced the learning opportunities in our mistakes and taken pleasure in the process.
These villas were built by Japan's world-class craftsmen, BESS, who responded to IZA's reckless demands, with the intention of conveying the charm of Japan to visitors from all over the world.
IZA's original sauna
The owners and staff developed the idea for IZA's sensational sauna series after visiting sauna facilities throughout Japan and researching saunas around the world.
Subsequently, we searched for a sauna manufacturer that could bring our vision to life, while also negotiating within the constraints of limited resources, time, and budget.
We developed IZA's original sauna with the help of many people, from craftsmen and designers to the administrative workers that support them.

The IZA design
IZA's brand was refined under the supervision of designer KEN UTSUMI, from graphic design such as logos and signs, to product design such as t-shirts and pens, to interior and exterior space design.
In the spirit of Zen, we have eliminated all excess to the greatest extent possible, and have incorporated a sense of grace and simplicity, resulting in the most refined form.
The design incorporates ample white space, which effectively conveys the significance of margins in design, as well as in one's personal and professional life.
We pour our hearts and souls into every detail, all while maintaining a sense of lightheartedness that will bring a smile to your face when you discover it.

During the summer months, Oumi Maiko is bustling with swimmers from Lake Biwa. However, the number of tourists drops significantly during the rest of the year. Despite this, there are numerous wonderful and lesser-known attractions in the surrounding area worth exploring.
Our goal is to contribute to the development of Oumi Maiko as a destination that offers more than just a summer swimming spot. To this end, we have established a private villa with a sauna, catering to individuals who seek a peaceful and rejuvenating countryside retreat, as well as a private space to unwind and relax.
